Amanda and Nathan had the perfect New Orleans wedding. Their big day was a great mix of relaxed Southern style with some cajun spice thrown in. :-) I met this awesome couple last spring when they were looking for a photographer to shoot their engagement session in Birmingham, and little did we know that 10 months later we’d get another chance to shoot in one of our favorite cities to photograph!

Amanda’s as cool a customer as they come, and Nathan’s sense of humor never fails to make her laugh. And her laugh, needless to say, was gorgeous. :-) We started the day off shooting around their event hotel, the Maison Dupuy, and the surrounding neighborhood. Thankfully, we were blessed with some gorgeous weather and cool temperatures!

Amanda and Nathan’s outdoor ceremony took place in the hotel’s courtyard, in front of an intimate number of family and friends, and lit by nothing more than candles and the stars. It was beautiful in every way, full of emotion and the occasion laugh. The lovebirds followed up the ceremony with a blast of a reception that included plenty of wonderful New Orleans-esque details, including a brass band, a bananas foster bar, and a second line complete with hand-made masks for the guests to wear!

To Amanda and Nathan, thank you so much for having us down to New Orleans to help you celebrate the big day! It was truly our pleasure to be part of such a beautiful moment! As you guys enjoy a week at the happiest place on earth, here’s a couple of our early favorites from your pictures …
