Jenney and Matt | The Engagement

June 30, 2010 – 9:00 am

I drove up to north Alabama last week to spend some time shooting Jenney and Matt’s engagement session! Matt had the awesome idea to shoot on his brother’s farm, and the setting was PERFECT. The session almost didn’t happen though, since there were some CRAZY storm clouds all around us before we started shooting. But our luck held out, and we were able to shoot around the nearby farmland, and also made a quick trip to a nearby quarry for a few shots!

Katherine and Scottie | The Engagement

We shot Katherine and Scottie’s proposal at the end of 2009, and can’t believe the big day is only a month away! Having spent three years at Samford with Katherine, this wedding has a special place in our hearts! Thankfully, we found time between Scottie’s busy schedule in the political world, and Katherine’s work as a physical therapist, to shoot some engagement pictures before they tie the knot.

We spent some time on the rooftop of our building in downtown Birmingham, and then headed over to Birmingham Botanical Gardens for a couple of more shots! Here’s some of my favorites …

Check out Katherine’s ring, which Scottie custom designed. They’re both HUGE ultimate frisbee players and actually play on a team here in Birmingham, so it made perfect sense …

Jennifer and Justin | The Engagement | Nashville, TN

I don’t know if we’ve ever mentioned this before, but Stacey and I are crazy in love with Nashville. Seriously. That city is beyond awesome. So what was my response when Jennifer approached me about shooting their engagement session in Nashvegas? …

“Can we go today?”

Sunday was an absolutely beautiful day for shooting around the city, and Jennifer and Justin knew exactly how to get ready for their session … with a quick drink at the spot where they first met. We had such a good time walking along the Cumberland and around Broadway. And despite a pretty mean blister on Jennifer’s foot from her shoes, they were so relaxed in front of the camera.
