Layne and Chad | The Wedding

Layne and Chad’s big day was a color splash from beginning to end. Just the way we like it. :-)

Despite some ridiculously frigid temperatures outside, they enjoyed a warm ceremony in front of family and friends at Trussville First Baptist Church. Layne’s gown was stunning … and I was tempted to trade her my uncomfortably new wedding shoes for her cozy wedding slippers.

We’ve been shooting out of town for a few months now, so it was great to get back among vendors that we absolutely LOVE to work with. A select few included Vince and the folks over at Flower Stems, as well as the oh-so-talented guys at Feel the Beat.

Layne and Chad’s reception at Soho Square’s Rosewood Hall was stunning from wall-to-wall. From the gorgeous green and purple linens and uplighting, (Have we mentioned how much good lighting can affect the look of a reception?) to the amazing ice sculptures for the shrimp bar and Alabama “A”, it was a feast for the eyes!

So without further delay, here’s a select few of our favorites from Layne and Chad’s spectacular wedding day …

Layne | The Bridals

stanley001

I had the chance to shoot Layne’s bridals late last year, in preparation for the big day TODAY! She was looking for a more simplistic, modern style bridal shoot … so we stayed here in downtown Birmingham at the amazing Flower Stems loft. If you haven’t settled on a florist yet for the big day, or are just looking for a gorgeous bridal bouquet, Vince and the folks at Flowers Stems do some amazing work!

Here’s a couple of quick favorites from her session!

Jonathan and Bryan | Film Gurus

We finally got around to getting our film scanned in from the A Bryan Photo Workshopw we attended awhile back, as well as some other sessions from the end of 2009. I have to admit, I was pretty excited about some of the images we captured. Don’t have time now for a full post, but wanted to share a quick favorite of the amazing Jonathan Canlas and Bryan Johnson … two of the best film photographers out there … as well as two big inspirations for Stacey and me …
