Katherine and Scottie | The Engagement

We shot Katherine and Scottie’s proposal at the end of 2009, and can’t believe the big day is only a month away! Having spent three years at Samford with Katherine, this wedding has a special place in our hearts! Thankfully, we found time between Scottie’s busy schedule in the political world, and Katherine’s work as a physical therapist, to shoot some engagement pictures before they tie the knot.

We spent some time on the rooftop of our building in downtown Birmingham, and then headed over to Birmingham Botanical Gardens for a couple of more shots! Here’s some of my favorites …

Check out Katherine’s ring, which Scottie custom designed. They’re both HUGE ultimate frisbee players and actually play on a team here in Birmingham, so it made perfect sense …

Miranda’s Bridals

Stacey and I have the pleasure today to be shooting Miranda and Rob’s wedding at Our Lady Of Sorrows Catholic Church and Homewood, and they’re sure-to-be amazing reception this evening at The Club.

I’m so excited to finally be able to show of some of Miranda’s bridals from a few months ago!

Katie and Stephen | The Wedding

When most brides would have panicked at a weather forecast of a 90-percent chance of rain and tornado warnings, Katie was busy going out to buy pink polka-dotted rain boots….

When she called me the day before the wedding, she was as calm as I’ve ever heard a bride that close to the big day. Her only question was:

“Do you guys have an umbrella?”

So even though her and Stephen’s garden wedding and reception were forced inside by some REALLY ugly weather, this awesome couple made the most of their day … and in turn, there day was AMAZING from beginning to end.

She looked drop-dead gorgeous in her wedding gown, and I think Stephen and I both noted more than once that he was a very lucky man! Katie and Brad’s wedding a very spring feel to it, with a HUGE splash of color in the form of some pink, orange, and white details. It was a perfect mixed of a comfortable southern style, paired with some splashes of glam here and there. (Case in point … see Katie’s awesome hair piece and cake!)

The wedding and reception were both held at Birmingham Botanical Gardens, with Katie and Stephen bringing in an all-star cast of vendors to make the day memorable! The event was catered by All Around Town Catering, with the beautiful cake designed by Jan from DreamCakes.

Katie and Stephen, thank you so much for having us along for the big day. We had an amazing time with you guys, and couldn’t wait to show of some of our favorites from your gorgeous wedding!
