We could not have asked for more amazing families to spend a wedding day with than the Thompsons and Elms. From the moment I sat down with Christie and her family a few months ago, I could tell that this was going to be an wonderful day … and it didn’t disappoint!

The big day took place at the gorgeous Primose Cottage just outside of Atlanta. Rain and thunderstorms, a constant event at our last few weddings, played a part in Chris and Christie’s wedding, and we’ll get to that story in just a second!

But throughout the day, this amazing couple was the definition of “relaxed.” They spent a quick moment seeing each other before the ceremony, and allowed us to get some great portraits of the two of them before the rain got involved!

Here’s a quick picture story of their day!

Christie’s little girl Kona couldn’t make it for the wedding, but see if you can find her “little” appearance!

They met for the first time on the front lawn of the property. I absolutely love Chris’ reaction to seeing his bride-to-be in her dress!!!

After the first look, it was time for some fun portraits! …

Christie has such a beautiful laugh!

What a blast of a wedding party! Especially that one guy from Alaska!

Christie and her bridesmaids did some serious dance prep for their re-enactment of “Thriller” at the reception later that afternoon …

We absolutely loved the floral choices! Here’s some awesome details from the day …

The couple had Allegro Strings, including members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, perform the ceremony music …

Christie and her father making the walk down the aisle …

So you remember us mentioning how rain played a part in the day? Just about the time the pastor started talking to the bride and groom-to-be, it started pouring … really pouring. What was amazing about the situation, is even after the ceremony had to be halted and moved inside, Christie and Chris didn’t even blink an eye. I think it really showed how important the ceremony was to them, rather than the actual location! Christie’s dad made history too, becoming probably the only father-of-the-bride to have the opportunity to walk his daughter down the aisle twice, on the same day, to the same man …. judging from his face, he loved every second of it!

Chris and Christie’s cakes were made by the amazing cake designer Mark Brickman! They were truly stunning, and as delicious as they looked …

Plenty of guests at the wedding were looking for the chopsticks, until they realized that this was Chris’ grooms cake. Talk about detailed!

The first dance …

It was obvious from are initial meeting with Christie’s family, through the planning of the big day, and on to the father/daughter dance, that Christie and her dad have an amazing relationship. This was, by far, one of the most emotional dances Stacey and I have ever shot …

Then is was Chris’ turn with his mom …

Followed by the girls’ “Thriller” debut … and Chris’ mastery of the white man dance …

We’re thinking they’re Alabama fans!

Many thanks to EVERYONE, for having Stacey and I along for this amazing day! We felt like just another part of the family from the moment we met them!
