Last month a had the awesome privilege to second shoot for Sarah K. Chen, one of the coolest wedding photographers in the business! I flew up to Detroit to shoot for her and and her amazing clients, Phyllis and Dan. They chose the stunning Cranbrook House and Gardens for the ceremony and the uber-modern Birmingham Athletic Club for the reception. Phyllis worked intricately on her details, and it really showed throughout the day! They had so much style and originality!

Sadly, I was hoping to escape some ugly Birmingham weather up north, but the rain decided to follow me to Michigan, and poured heavily throughout the day. That’s when Sarah suggested to her clients that they should do a morning-after session, so we didn’t miss out on the beauty of the Cranbrook gardens. I was grateful she did, as the next morning turned out to be absolutely gorgeous!

Thank you Sarah SO much for inviting me to come shoot with you! And congrats Phyllis and Dan on a perfect wedding day.

P.S. – You HAVE to head over to Sarah’s blog to see her stunning images from the day. They’re unreal, and definitely leave Stacey and I with a level of quality to shoot for!

Here’s some of my favs from the day. The guys getting ready ….

Their first meeting …

Absolutely loved Phyliss’ choice for the bridesmaid dresses and flowers …. they were truly stunning …

On to the reception for more of the crazy details!
